WHAT IS AN INTERACTIVE PROTOTYPE?
A prototype is not a user-ready digital product. Instead, it represents what the finished digital product will look like. For example, an interactive prototype of a native app depicts what the entire real app will look like when you download it from the app store.
We can make interactive prototypes for all kinds of digital products, including native apps, web apps, websites, webshops, custom-made web applications, SaaS solutions, and more.ย
The prototype contains an actual design (not sketches), content, animations, and other similar elements. You can tap on any of these elements and navigate to the new content linked to them, which can be another page, a new animation, a picture, or a pop-up. Unlike static dummy visuals, an interactive prototype communicates in an โinteractiveโ manner.ย
Prototyping simulates a complete experience of the finished digital product. Although it canโt use all device capabilities (e.g., camera, GPS, Bluetooth), it can imitate the interactions. For example, a prototype cannot access the phone's actual camera and use the photos. However, it can illustrate how a user would take a picture from her phone by showing an image representing the camera screen.
An interactive prototype is a fast and cost-effective way to test your โproduct ideaโ by showing its representation to stakeholders (users, clients, colleagues, investors, etc.) before the actual development.
See more about interactive prototypes in the movie below. The video only shows app prototypes, but it is possible to prototype all kinds of digital products.

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY DIGITAL PRODUCTS?
On this page and other places at tiblo.co.uk, you often notice the term 'digital products'. By digital products, we primarily refer to the following: native apps, web apps, progressive web apps, websites, webshops, custom-made web applications, SaaS solutions, and system integrations.
BENEFITS OF AN INTERACTIVE PROTOTYPE
We recommend that you opt for an interactive prototype of your upcoming digital product before its actual development. Some of the ways in which a prototype can benefit you are:
See before you build
See your digital product's exact design and functionalities before paying for its development.
Affordable testing
Without paying for the final developed product, you can use the prototype to quickly and inexpensively test your digital product idea on users.
Better overview
Get a better overview of your overall business idea and make better decisions.
Obtain funding
If you are a start-up company, you can show the prototype to potential investors to obtain funding to develop your digital product.
Avoid losing money
You avoid developing and paying for a digital product that users will not use.
Best development price
With a prototype, it is much easier to obtain comparable prices from different agencies as they will quote a price for exactly the same development work.ย
Reduced development cost
Feedback from users can trigger many important changes or minor fixes. It is significantly cheaper to make alterations to an interactive prototype than to a finished digital product.
Non-technical solution
See your digital product visually without any technical understanding of programming.
FROM INTANGIBLE AND SUBJECTIVE TO TANGIBLE AND SPECIFIC
The majority of our clients contact us at the beginning of the development process. At this stage, they usually have initial ideas and often brief written notes about their desired digital product, like the features and functionalities they want in the product, their target audience's needs, etc.
All this initial work is helpful, but it would be inappropriate to start coding the digital product so early in the process. In our experience, it is often beneficial to prototype the product before the coding begins.
Some simplified examples of the requirements our clients have at the start of the development process are: our webshop must be intuitive to use, the design must be beautiful, it should support the purpose of our website, it must be easy to navigate in our app, our SaaS solution must be user-friendly, etc.
All these demands are reasonable and valid. They will surely increase the chances of success of the digital product. However, these requirements are also intangible and subjective. This is so because different people have different perceptions. Two people may have differing opinions on what โintuitive to useโ is. Likewise, there can be disagreements about what a โbeautiful designโ is.ย
It is, therefore, wise to translate these intangible requirements into something tangible and specific. The digital agency may end up building a finished product (an app, website, etc.) that, in their belief, is beautiful and intuitive to use. But despite their best efforts, if clients have different opinions regarding intuitiveness and aesthetics, the agency will fail to satisfy them. This may result in clients paying for a developed product that they are not satisfied with. Designing an interactive prototype before development helps clients get a finished product that matches their expectations.
HOW DO WE MAKE THE PROTOTYPE?
As the first step, we deep dive into your initial ideas and requirements for your digital product โ the purpose of your product, target group, features you want in the product, etc.ย
In the next step, we focus on the design. We prepare three different design proposals based on your preferences to offer you multiple suggestions. You then select the one you prefer.
Then we continue prototyping the rest of the pages based on the design you selected while ensuring all your requirements for functionality and design are included.ย
In practice, this whole process is iterative. So, adjustments are made along the way. All through the process, it will be possible to present the prototype to the stakeholders (users, clients, colleagues, investors, etc.) and subsequently implement their feedback and corrections.ย
When there are no more corrections and you are satisfied, you will obtain a finished prototype.
We work closely with you through the entire iterative process to transform your ideas into an interactive prototype. You just need to tell us your requirements and preferences, and then we will do all the work. If there are multiple ways to implement your desired functionality, we guide you. We explain the pros and cons associated with each approach. This helps you make informed decisions and choose the best solutions for your product.
Suppose you wish to make an app that requires functionality that lets users easily navigate to a specific address. This functionality can be implemented in multiple ways. One of the methods is to use the map application on the userโs device (Google Maps or Maps on iOS). In this case, the actual navigation takes place outside your app. Another method is to create a map functionality inside your app. In this case, the actual navigation takes place within your app. We will explain the advantages and disadvantages of each method. Based on our experience, we will also offer advice about what we think would be the best method for your specific product. This will help you choose the best method for GPS navigation in your app.
Note that you are not required to spend time making decisions about minor details. We do that for you based on our experience and knowledge. You will only need to think about the essential elements in your digital product.
BEAUTIFUL DESIGN
We understand how important your digital productโs aesthetics are for its users. Therefore, we spend a lot of time and effort creating appealing and functional designs that align with the productโs purpose.
Our design process has been appreciated by many of our clients. We start the process by deep diving into your style preferences to decode what delights you, such as colours, fonts, moods, designs of some other digital products you like, etc. Based on these preferences, we create three different design proposals for you to give you multiple options. After that, you select the design you prefer or ask us to provide fresh designs. This is an open-ended iterative process that continues until we arrive at a design you love.
Below are some pictures of designs created by us.ย You donโt need to pick any of these designs, they are just examples. We will customise the design for your digital product according to your wishes.
We have three different design methods. You can select the one you would like us to use for your digital product.ย

YOU DO NOT NEED PRIOR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT PROTOTYPES OR PROGRAMMING
If you choose Tiblo to make your interactive prototype, you do not need prior knowledge of prototypes or programming. You just need to tell us your initial thoughts and ideas. We will work and guide you through the entire process to transform your ideas into an interactive prototype.ย
90% of our clients have no technical skills, but that is not a problem at all. We have the skills and experience for effectively communicating complex technical concepts in simple and easy to understand language.ย
TECHNICAL INFO ABOUT OUR PROTOTYPES
All our prototypes are made in Adobe XD. Adobe has the worldโs most used suite of creative digital tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc. Adobe XD is free to use, and you can watch a general demo of the program here and download it here.
Our prototypes can be accessed online, via a browser, from all devices (phones, tablets, computers, TV, etc.). This makes it easy for all stakeholders (users, investors, colleagues, etc.) to view the prototype. It is also possible to restrict the viewing of a prototype by protecting it with a password and inviting only a selected group to view it.

PRICING
FULLY FUNCTIONAL PROTOTYPE FROM 2,300 GBP TO 4,500 GBP
We prefer to provide a fixed price for your interactive prototype project. Our fixed price model covers all expenses, including discussions, design, testing, corrections, etc. Therefore, you always know the exact cost of the finished prototype right at the start. However, it is only possible to calculate the amount after we know what you have in mind, such as what functionalities would you want in your digital product, how should the design look like, which devices (phones, tablets, watches, etc.) should the product operate on, etc.ย
An interactive prototype costs between 2,300 GBP TO 4,500 GBP, depending on the scope of your product. We typically deliver a prototype between one and six weeks.
If you require prototype work done at hourly rates, it costs a maximum of 50 GBP per hour. The hourly rate falls with an increase in the number of hours purchased. 90% of our clients buy fixed-price projects and, in practice, obtain hourly rates that are significantly below 50 GBP per hour. ย
The mentioned hourly rates apply to all our experts irrespective of their seniority level or domain (project managers, team leads, software architects, senior UI designers, senior UX designers, etc.).
Our prices are significantly lower than many other UK agencies that make interactive prototypes. In our experience, our prices are also lower than many agencies in Eastern Europe (Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Belarus, Lithuania, etc.) that make interactive prototypes. This is, of course, without compromising on quality. You may be wondering how we can offer prototypes of high quality, with short delivery time, at such low prices. The answer lies in The Tiblo Model.
YOU OWN THE RIGHTS
Once the prototype is finalised to your satisfaction and you have paid the entire amount, you own all rights to it. If you decide to do further development in the future, you can continue working with us, find another (external) company or do the work in-house. You own the rights, so itโs all up to you.ย
FREE CONSULTATION
We would be glad to invite you to meetings where we can share our knowledge and learnings about interactive prototypes. You can decide the subject for our meetings. We will offer valuable advice regardless of the stage you are at: ideation stage, development stage, a live digital product, etc.
The meetings are 100% free and non-binding. You are in no way obliged to buy anything from Tiblo after these meetings.ย

Danske Idrรฆt
Danske Idrรฆt is an independent sports association for employees of Danske Bank in Denmark, with approximately 2,000 members. We needed a new digital platform (mobile app and administration module) to offer our association members a better experience and, at the same time, to simplify the administrative work for our volunteers. Tiblo has been a competent partner while working with us on this new digital platform. Tiblo understood our requirements and took the time needed to understand our organization and pains. We are delighted with the collaboration and the high quality work, offered at a good price.
